Event Planning Key Steps

1. Pray - Pray for God's will and blessing to lead your church, and pray that this event will stir the hearts of the people to serve (Mathew 20:28) as Jesus did, in an effort to build relationships with those in our community and in doing so, that we may exemplify the grace and mercy God has had on our lives, and that we would influence lives toward salvation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

2. Vision of Jubilee to Church Leadership - Bring the vision of Jubilee to your church leadership for affirmation and approval to move forward with the event.

3. Vision of Jubilee to Church Body - Ask God to raise up a leader outside of your current leadership team that will be the voice of Jubilee to the church and solicit volunteers to join in the planning, serving, and giving of their resources. It is recommended that this event not become another responsibility of the Pastoral leadership, but the responsibility of the volunteers from the body of believers. (See the volunteer cards template that can be used for signing up volunteers. Also see the template for tracking your volunteers in the Commitments Tracking).

4. Gathering the Blessings - Begin asking the people to set aside their blessings that they want to give at Jubilee (I.E Gently Used clothes, bikes, house wares, appliances… or it may be cutting hair, painting finger nails, or give medical advice, face painting, sing…). This vision of this event is reallocate the blessings that God has given us here on earth to advance the Kingdom of God. Encourage people to pray about how they can be used in giving of their time, energy, and resources of Blessings.

5. Pre- Event Meetings - Hold a series of Jubilee Meetings to plan and coordinate the event. Pray God's hand on all of your efforts. The key is to delegate responsibility to Focus Group Leaders to carry out their responsibility in the event. Do not advertise. Go personally to the areas of need in your community and invite people personally. Get your youth involved here. Find an area (rent a semi-trailer) for volunteers to begin bringing their blessings 2-3 weeks prior to the event. Begin setting up tents, and event facilities 2-3 days prior to event day. Use youth groups to organize clothes and engage in the vision of Jubilee. Kids have a heart to give.

6. Jubilee Celebration Event Day - Pray for the event day. Be sure to document (via pictures & video) the event and the hand of God at work to share testimony to His faithfulness. Ask God to give each of your volunteers a heart of humility to serve in a way that honors people attending, not degrade them. Make sure that everything is FREE. Do not solicit or accept donations from guests to keep the purity & purpose for this event.

7. Jubilee Celebration Follow-up - Plan a follow-up strategy for on-going relationship contact with those that are interested in being contacted for future needs, prayer and ministry needs. Begin planning for next year!
